The butcher

Kevin

Kevin has spent more than four decades in the butchery trade. He started as a teenager, learning the trade from the ground up and gaining experience through market stalls and years behind the counter.

In the early 2000s, Kevin took ownership of G.A. Perkins, having previously worked there under Tony Perkins. He brought the business into the Aaron family and rebranded it as K & S Aaron & Son.

Today, Kevin remains at the heart of the butchery side of the shop, bringing decades of knowledge and experience to the counter.

The next generation

Jake

Jake is Kevin's son and has been around the business from an early age. He started helping out in his early teens and chose to follow his dad into the family meat trade.

He is particularly involved with the sandwich side of the business, while also being able to turn his hand to the wider day-to-day operation of the shop.

For Jake, the trade is something he has grown up with — learning by being around the shop, helping customers and working alongside his dad.

From learning the trade to carrying it forward

Kevin began in the trade as a teenager, building practical experience from the ground up.

Market stalls became part of Kevin's early experience and helped shape his knowledge of the trade.

Kevin later took ownership of the established local business in the early 2000s.

The business became part of the Aaron family, with the name reflecting the next generation.

Jake joins in

Jake started helping from his early teens and has grown into an important part of the day-to-day shop.

Years of hands-on experience sit behind the counter, from traditional butchery to preparing the food served in the shop.

Generations

Kevin's experience and Jake's involvement bring two generations of the same family into the business.

Local

The shop is rooted in Oswaldtwistle and continues to serve customers from the surrounding local area.

It isn't just Kevin and Jake.

Other members of the Aaron family help out from time to time too, including Suzanne, Kevin's wife, and Karen, Kevin's sister. Like many family businesses, everyone can pitch in when needed.
